This a recommended ‘nokyo-cho’ (stamp book) for foreign visitors.

You can see the title ""What is Nokyo"" and find information about the pilgrimage in English on the first page,so you can start your journey equipped with useful knowledge.

On the second page, there is information in English about Kukai (Kobo-Daishi).
And on the third page, there is a drawing of him in color.

You can learn a great deal about Kukai (Kobo-Daishi), the monk who initiated the pilgrimage route.

On pages 5 and 6, there is information in Japanese about Nokyo.

Next, in the nokyo-cho, the first(Koyasan-Okunoin), and the second(on the back of the Koyasan page)remain a blank,so you may receive a stamp on the pages at Kongobuji Temple, Wakayama or To-ji temple (Kyō-ōgokoku-ji), Kyoto.

 Also, there are pages for the 88 temples of the Shikoku Pilgrimage Route, from the 1st temple Ryozen Temple to the 88th Okubo Temple on which you can receive the go-shuin (the seal of each temple).

These pages are made of quality Japanese papers called Washi.


At the back of the book, there are four blank pages.
